About
Us
The role of the Geographic Information Services is to advance
and promote the use of GIS within the City, to represent the
City's GIS interests to outside agencies, and to facilitate
the access by the public to the City's spatial data. In order
to advance the use of GIS, the GIS Division has the following
primary roles:
1) Identifying and proposing which hardware/software solutions the City should
implement to solve GIS issues.
2) Serve as the City's spatial data repository.
3) Serve as GIS liaisons to Departments lacking their own expertise.
In order to facilitate public access to the City's spatial
data the GIS Division maintains the GIS Website where public
access to spatial data is
granted. Here the public can retrieve data for their personal
use.
The public also has access to our Geo
Web online mapping application. Below is a list of some of the
data that may retrieved on Geo Web.
